Die Before You Die: A dialogue on death and rebirth

Despite its undeniable significance for every living being, death is virtually absent from Western discourse. Juxtaposing various perspectives on death in cross-cultural religion and philosophy such as Sufism, the Kyoto-School, and the Yoruba in West Africa, this dialogue between Nigerian philosopher Emmanuel Ofuasia and fellow Vandalooper Hannes Schumacher critically reflects on the experience of “spiritual death” during an ayahuasca ceremony in Ecuador.
